- someday -
by thesewordsiwrite2012
I would like to have four children…
someday.
Three beautiful girls to worry over…
and a hard-headed boy to smack upside the head.
I would like to raise my babes in a home…
someday.
A cozy, humble abode far from the noise, the pollution…
and the obvious horror of reality.
I would like to teach my kids about words…
someday.
Reading bedtime stories about kingdoms and creatures…
both imagined and authentic.
I would like to buy my little ones a pet or two…
someday.
Dilligent dogs or cuddling cats…
and anything that can be flushed down the toilet upon death.
I would to take my kids outdoors…
someday.
Letting nature teach them better than I ever could…
and learning from the lessons they learn.
I would like to brag about my children…
someday.
Telling friends and foes about their accomplishments…
and the good they put into the world.
First things first,
I would like to have four children…
someday.

my heart widened as I read this. I really like the rhythm of your poetry! Those “someday”s almost sound like heart beats…

This one warmed my heart as I love my children, and it’s a very well written poem.
