I desire a moment to get swept up in the leaves,
bold as the Midwest air.
It is true beauty I see,
undeniable glamour that surrounds me,
everytime I walk that walk,
be it on Elm Street,
on Monroe Street,
or in the hills east of us.
What good fortune will it be
to witness another round of autumn,
the perfect chills down my spine as my eyes take in
the reds, browns, oranges, yellows, and
every hue in between.
May the leaves shower upon me,
hopefully amid the sunset
with warm rays shimmering
through the treetops.
May my moment with the leaves come once again.
