– once and once more –

First, it was driving…

now, it’s a walk-by… on a

windy Friday, crossing my way,

once and once more.

Food in my hand…

coins in your palm… we are

getting things done, under March sun,

once and once more.

Never thought I’d see my look-alike,

the stranger I wrote of one night,

around and about town struggling a-

gain…

Keeping hope strong here… a

song in your heart… there is

much I can’t do, ‘cept pray for you,

once and once more.

Prayers I’ll say to lift you up,

dollars and cents when there’s enough,

around and about town, some kind of

friend…

Best be on my way…

best to move along… guess I’ll

see you someday, on a Friday,

once and once more.
