The Mountain

This is a gorgeous piece written by Bonnie Gaines. Hope you all like it as much as I do!

The Bonny Blog

she stood erect

too many years to count
her head always in the clouds

they called her haughty
but she was not

one day
every inch of her body ached

cathartic rumblings took over
and she belched
here and there

a plume of lava and smoke
filled the valley
dissipating slowly

how unladylike she thought
and regretted
her outburst
hoping the people
would forgive her

once a lady
always a lady
