– words we don’t say –

In through the front door,

in the dark of night – most

deaf’ning sound I ever heard.

The tone of your voice,

the look in your eyes – your

face speaking a thousand words.

What is this mood?

Tell me what; tell me how.

What did I do?

Tell me why; tell me now.

Is this my mind tricking me, or the

calm before the storm I see?

What’s wrong with you? What’s

wrong with me too?

It’s the words we don’t say…

that will get in the way.

It’s the words not relayed…

that will break us from day.

Silence… how somber. Stuck

habit… why bother?

It’s the words we won’t say…

that will dig our own graves.
