– that funny feeling –

It’s crazy how I get that funny feeling

just a tad too often.

~

A stupendous shadow of frigid breath

covers the closed room.

A tremendous train of unblessed rain

hurdles toward bluffed doom.

A tidal wave of shameful guilt

crashes the burning  shore.

A nation of eyes glare and despise,

judging from ceiling to floor.

Dropping the seconds, minutes, and hours

as November passes for June.

Craving to cut the living flesh –

even a spoon would do.

Drowning 1,001 times over

within the Dead Sea.

Tightening lips when asked my trouble –

the making of a dead me.

~

It’s crazy how I get that funny feeling

just a tad too often.

The craziest part?

That feeling isn’t funny at all.

  1. Some amazing imagery in this. ‘…a stupendous shadow of frigid breath…’ particularly resonates. Not funny at all but ultimately conquerable. June and November might always roll round, all seasons to degrees, eyes fixed to the sun as a constant.
